Sandra Martinez sent us this shot of Peter from a 1996 Hollywood Collectors Show.
Below: Peter appeared at the Laughlin,Nevada Riverside Resort Western Movie Stars Extravaganza November 27, 28 & 29, 2000. There were a lot of no-shows including Robert Fuller, William Smith, James Drury, Andy Prine, George Montgomery (who died shortly thereafter) so fans were gratified to see Peter there as well as the elegant, silver-haired Robert Horton and the extremely gregarious Ben Cooper, among others. The pictures below were taken by Randy, our web mistress who doesn't pretend to be a photographer.
There was a lot of Lawman merchandise sold during the run of the series, so Peter has been asked to autograph all kinds of things. Randy's lunchbox was not the only one he signed that day, but she had the only thermos. [You can imagine how few thermoses survived childhood usage -- hers didn't either. She bought this one on ebay.] See our Memorabilia page to view other Lawman merchandise.

Ben Cooper is next to Peter. He
was a frequent guest star in Westerns. Below: There was an evening variety show during the Laughlin Westerns event. Peter's friend Mike Moroff,a very personable Hispanic singer and self-professed cross between Garth Brooks and Jessie Ventura, calls Peter "Pedro Cafe." Mike brought Peter on for a rendition of "Que Paso?" Peter is a 'Not Ready for Prime Time Singer' with a very pleasant voice who appeared to be having a good time on-stage.

PEDRO CAFE & MIKE MOROFFMike Moroff also entertained after the first night's dinner by singing the theme songs to virtually every Western TV series which had a theme with words--except Lawman. Peter's fans were ready for action until we realized that was just Mike's way of teasing his friend Peter. He finally concluded with Lawman.![]()
Barbara Luna, after a lifetime of playing
black-haired Indian maidens and senoritas
was a blonde diva for this show.HERB JEFFRIES
It was hard to believe, while watching this former star of The Bronze Buckaroo (1939) and Harlem Rides the Range (1939) belt out classics like "Satin Doll" and "Don't Fence Me In," that he was born in 1911. The man exuded energy. He sang with Duke Ellington after his early acting career in black westerns and was a big hit at this Westerns show. [He made a cameo appearance in Chrome & Hot Leather, a 1971 biker movie costarring Peter Brown and William Smith.]

Mike Moroff came back for a duet. Peter shared a table at the April 1998, Hollywood Collectors Show with Robert Fuller and William Smith. (This was Bill's very first autograph show - Bob & Peter talked him into it.) A real bonus for babyboomer Westerns fans. Clint Walker [Cheyenne] was also there at a different table. Randy and Kile were there with friends from their high school class looking for a nostalgia fix. They used to get together in their elementary & jr. high school years and watch Lawman, Laramie, Maverick and Cheyenne. Later in high school it was Laredo and The Virginian. Must see TV for the '60s. Watching Peter and Bill sharing a table is a little reminiscent of an Odd Couple show. Peter is a very tidy sort, keeping his pictures neatly organized and stacked. Bill tends to slop everything together and encroach on Peter (and Bob on the other side) messing up their orderly displays. Luckily they're all such long-time friends, Peter and Bob are genial about Bill's foibles.
Robert Fuller The empty seat between Bob and Peter below is Bill's. Of the three pals, he's the only one who still smokes and he's a restless kind of guy anyway. But we have to tell you, the second day of the show was the Sunday that the daylight savings time change kicked in. Bob was there early as he had been the day before, Bill was almost on time and Peter was two hours late, having gotten the time change backwards.[William Sasser, who organized Western Film Festival in Williamsburg, sells videos of the celebrity panels from his and other shows for $20 each. He also allows attendees to take their own videos at his show.] ![]()
Charlotte Film Festival--July 2-4, 1998
Peter appeared on a panel at this festival with William Smith & Robert Fuller. This is the only panel Peter was on where we weren't silently saying to the other celebrities appearing with him (no matter how nice), "shut up and let Peter talk." Panels are much more fun when all the participants have a history (a friendly one). These film festivals seem to be making a transition from the actors in the old movie Westerns to the Western TV stars that baby boomers grew up with. Peter, Bill and Bob are contemporaries with similar acting histories and memories that can cap off each other. It's much more fun to see them together than to see any one of them mixed in with the older stars who appeal to an older audience.
At the 1998 Knoxville event, Peter appeared on two panels. On the first, he appeared with Jeremy Slate, Laura Elliott [aka Casey Rogers] and Sue Ann Langdon KNOXVILLE FILM FESTIVAL--April 30-May 3, 1998
We had a question for Peter the audience didn't ask, "Could you have worn a bigger hat?"
The next day in Knoxville, Peter appeared on a panel with Lois Hall [Western movies], Irish McCallah [Sheena, Queen of the Jungle], Gary Gray [Tim Holt Westerns, series guest appearances], Johnny Sheffield [Tarzan's "Boy" & Jungle Boy]
