The pictures above and below illustrated a nice article on the Lawman series from the October 1959 issue of TV Western magazine.  Ah, for those great days when there were enough TV Westerns to have a magazine devoted to them.

In episode 21 they killed off the interesting newsman Harry Tate and brought in his uninteresting niece Julie played by Barbara Long.  Neither she nor Bek Nelson, who played Dru Lemp the former marshal's widow, was a satisfying love interest for Dan Troop.  Peggy Castle as saloon owner Lily Merrill was a much better choice and lasted for the rest of the run.

This TV Guide article from the summer of 1960 actually was rather free of gossip.  The main thrust of the article was that Peter was hard-working, disciplined actor who together with John Russell worked to make sure that Lawman didn't stray from the course which made it such a fine show.
