A robber known as The Actor commits robbery and murder in Laramie.  When he ambushes a member of the posse, Johnny takes him back to town while Dan goes on along.  Dan is also shot in ambush and left for dead.  He's picked up and taken in by two sisters, one of whom is married to a circuit judge.  The judge is known as a hard man, a hanging judge.  As it turns out, he's also The Actor.
