When the self-righteous good people join a posse to go after suspected murderer Tracy Hunter they aren't too happy when Dan includes gunfighter/gambler Fent Harley.  However, when the good citizens decide they'd rather lynch Hunter than take him back for trial, only Harley stands by the Marshal.   Hunter's wife tells Johnny back in Laramie that she shot the dead man because he was trying to assult her (it was of course said more delicately).  Johnny rides after the posse and gets there in time to let them know Hunter is innocent.
