Little Britches thinks she's in love with jailed outlaw Pete Bole.  She is eager to help Heracles Sneed with an escape plan.  They find her irritating.  When Heracles leaves her stranded outside of town, she is "rescued" by Johnny who's on his way to Casper to testify at Bole's trial.  When she finds out she's a witness, she clonks him on the head with his canteen and leaves him handcuffed to a tree.  When Heracles finds out what she's done, he tells her to go release him.  If Johnny deosn't show up the law will become suspicious.  By the time she's spent some time with him, Britches fancies herself in love with Johnny.  Although this might show better taste, her feelings are received with no greater enthusiasm.  Peter Brown is a little more Chad Cooper here than we've previously seen.  (Cooper was his Laredo character.)
