Clootey Hutter is a rough-hewn, confident woman just trying to get by.  When she is hit on at the Birdcage by two brothers she rejects them.  When Earl goes after her, she is forced into a gunfight.  No one believes a woman could beat a man in a gunfight so Troop is forced to try to arrest her.  She tells him she can outdrawn him.  Earl's brother who guesses Earl pushed her too hard, decides she should prove her fast draw against him.  She beats him, but only wounds him in the hand.  They go off for a drink together, and perhaps more.
