Willie Shay (Sammy Davis Jr.) is a guitar-playing, singing cowboy who makes his living on cattle drives keeping restless cattle calm with the help of his sarsaparilla slurping steer Blue Boss.  When Al Janaker kills Blue Boss, Willie Shay vows revenge.  When the cowboy is found dead, Johnny is forced to go after his new friend.  This was one of our favorite episodes.  Peter and Sammy played off each other well (off-screen friendship doesn't always translate into good on-screen chemistry but it did in this case).   Although Peter was recognized as one of the top gunhandlers in TV Westerns, even he couldn't outdraw Sammy Davis who was thought to be one of the best in Hollywood.
